Hi there!! I have a house built in 1920, and it has the same [original] siding as your home does, and I have been trying to figure out what exactly it is?! Is it tongue and groove or beveled and rabbeted. I don’t know!! Whoever had the house before me covered it all up with Hardie-like siding. Not sure why. Lol. But I digress…
Hi Cait! Our siding is vinyl siding, but it goes like a tongue and groove. If it’s original to the 20’s, it could be clapboard siding, which is usually wood. If you’re updating it or doing work to it, make sure you have it tested for asbestos and lead paint, just in case! Feel free to snap a picture of it and email it to me, and I can see what I know about it!!
