I'm so excited to reclaim the 'dining room we never eat in because the stools are so uncomfortable' from 'Andrew's makeshift dude office area' since he's been sidelined on an injury and home for covid and blah blah blah. The amount of random dude stuff on this table is amazing, think he'll notice if I toss it? 😂

I have always wanted a bunch of these woven placemats on the wall as an art type installation in here since I repainted, and got all of these from one of my favorite local home decor stops - @cocalicocreek. Well, this basically sums up our take on how this school year is rolling to an end. My people are wrapping up the last 18 or so days of school and I am 100% done, their teachers are 100% done if not more, and my kids are 200% done. 5 days a week is great, but I'm ready to hit summer with a screeching halt to all... of this.

The playroom-turned-school-room has morphed into the no-one-cares-anymore-room, which is OK with me. I don't wanna organize school stuff in my house anymore, and I don't wanna organize toys in the charge-your-computers-for-school-tomorrow-home-base. This has been so frustrating the last month or so, I'm totally not waiting until the end of school to pack up the majority of this school stuff to return this room back to it's roots of kids at play. I'm grateful to have such a great space to provide my kids with a school space at home, but I have hit the wall. Have you hit it too? We're back to school 5 days a week for over a month now, but its like time stopped in here, and it's sucking the life from my soul.

We have tons of art stuff, slime, playdoh, blocks, barbies, beyblades, chalk, books, and I'm super pumped to pack up the school stuff, and bring out the fun goodies! What other fun stuff do you guys have in your kid rooms?

If you've been here long enough, you know I have an old door & window hoarding issue. I got rid of all but 3 cute doors, and 3 windows.

No clue what I'm doing with the rest 🤣 but this one I'm making into a shelf/mirror for the kids' bathroom. Is this trim not everything?! It's so pretty, and old, and looks like an old classroom door. The bottom was rotting and crumbling, so we cut it off, glued her up, and I can't wait to do the final sand and antique a mirror to go in there.

This ended up a delicious, yet flat & dense, fail.

This ended up a delicious, yet flat & dense, fail. I'm pretty sure I overproofed. When i did the folds last night, I realized it was probably going to be tricky, as it was super thick. This AM it had risen quite a bit, and was so sticky and loose. I did some more folds where you lift the middle and let it fold on itself. It was sticky and definitely didn't hold it's shape. I was sure right then it'd be a crouton loaf. I let it sit in the fridge for an hour to set up, and she looked like a pancake. Timing is everything 😂.

I pressed forth with some fancy cutting (wishful thinking), and baked. I laughed so hard when I took it out, and realized how heavy it was and it plopped onto the counter with a thud. 🧱

As I troubleshoot this crunchy loaf of doom (with butter), I'm going to try again. This crusty brick will make amazing croutons in my soup tonight... I mean, if there's any left, because I've never met a bread I don't like, even the overly dense and flat, unleavened, overproofed variety.
